Ducati has brought the SP badge to three of its sporting models at EICMA: the Panigale V4, Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V4. All wear a dark Winter Test finish and add expensive chassis hardware, but the mechanical differences go well beyond paint. The two V4s use carbon wheels, while the V2 puts forged aluminium wheels and a longer swingarm around its smaller twin.
Panigale V4 SP: carbon and race transmission
The Panigale V4 SP is the most powerful of the three, with its 1,103cc engine claiming 215hp (160.3kW), at 13,500rpm. Peak torque is 120.6Nm at 11,000rpm. Ducati quotes 188kg with fluids but without fuel, and an 850mm seat. That weight definition matters when comparing it with a fully fuelled rival.
Its carbon wheels save a claimed 0.95kg over the forged wheels on the V4 S. The package also includes an STM EVO-SBK dry clutch and Ducati Racing Gearbox with Neutral Lock. Öhlins Smart EC 3.0 controls damping, while the rear suspension tie rod can be adjusted in length. Bigger winglets and the V4 R-derived Corner Sidepods extend the track focus into the aerodynamics.

Panigale V2 SP: the middleweight chassis changes
The Panigale V2 SP takes the V2 S as its starting point and develops the package for World Supersport homologation. Its 890cc twin uses variable intake-valve timing and claims 118hp (88.2kW), at 10,750rpm, with 93.3Nm at 8,250rpm. The claimed weight is 176kg with fluids and no fuel; seat height is a tall 873mm.

Forged aluminium wheels cut a claimed 1.5kg from the V2 S wheel set. A longer swingarm changes the chassis balance, while a dry clutch, 43mm Öhlins NIX30 fork and Öhlins rear shock complete the main hardware changes. This is the SP for riders interested in the middleweight engine and its chassis development, with a substantially different performance envelope from the V4 superbike.

Streetfighter V4 SP: the naked option
The Streetfighter V4 SP retains an upright handlebar around its 1,103cc V4. Claimed output is 211hp (157.4kW), at 13,500rpm, with 120Nm at 11,250rpm. It shares the V4 SP's 188kg no-fuel weight figure, but puts the seat at 845mm.

Carbon wheels, an STM dry clutch and a racing final-drive configuration are part of the Streetfighter package. Öhlins Smart EC 3.0 suspension, adjustable footrests and a remotely adjustable Brembo master cylinder give it considerable setup scope. The brushed aluminium tank and numbered-series detailing tie it visually to the Panigale V4 SP; numbered production does not establish a fixed total run.
