Yamaha has unveiled two electric scooters with the same basic approach to charging: a fixed 3.5kWh battery and an onboard charger for home or public-car charging points. The NMAX E carries the sporty urban shape of its petrol namesake, while the XENTER E uses 16-inch wheels and a more open, upright layout.
Range and the fixed battery
Claimed range is 104km for the NMAX E and 108km for the XENTER E, measured on the WMTC cycle. Those are test-cycle figures rather than a promise for every commute. Weather, speed and the route will influence the distance between charges, making the charger arrangement as important as the headline range.
Two chassis layouts
Yamaha has packaged the motor into a compact eAxle unit and concentrated the heavy components near the centre of each chassis. The NMAX E uses a backbone frame; the XENTER E has an underbone design. Their different frames and wheel layouts give the two scooters distinct shapes despite sharing battery capacity.
Parking, navigation and storage
Both offer S, T and E power modes, a reverse function for parking, and a 5-inch TFT. Yamaha Motor On provides turn-by-turn navigation and information including location and remaining battery charge. There is underseat space for a full-face helmet, though fit depends on the helmet's size and shape.
The XENTER E's 16-inch wheels are its clearest everyday distinction, especially for riders dealing with broken surfaces and uneven paving. The NMAX E instead brings a familiar name and more enclosed urban-sports bodywork to the electric range.

Prices and charging details
Production is planned in Vietnam, with the NMAX E intended for global markets and a Japanese introduction planned for 2027. Yamaha has not confirmed US or European prices and dealer dates. Charging power, connector details and full charging times are still to come.
US and European pricing is still to be confirmed.
