Voge's new R800 makes its pitch with an exposed trellis frame, aluminium swingarm and a 798cc parallel twin. The EICMA bike wears bright yellow bodywork and an upside-down fork, giving the brand a more assertive middleweight naked alongside its adventure and scooter ranges.

The 798cc twin

The liquid-cooled DOHC eight-valve engine claims 94hp (70kW) at 9,000rpm and 81Nm at 6,500rpm. Compression is 12:1 and the gearbox has six speeds, with a bidirectional quickshifter. The output puts it in a road-focused middleweight class where the response between bends will matter as much as the peak figure.

Electronics and the road chassis

Four riding modes, traction control and dual-channel ABS are listed, alongside a steering damper and a digital display. The 17-inch wheels use a 120/70 front tyre and 180/55 rear, a conventional road pairing with plenty of tyre choice once the original set needs replacing.

Seat height is 810mm and the tank holds 16.5 litres. The exposed frame and aluminium swingarm leave much of the engine on view beneath the sharply cut yellow bodywork.
