Kawasaki's new 327cc two-stroke family is making its public-show appearance at EICMA after being announced in June. There are two distinct bikes: the KX327 for motocross and the KX327X for cross-country riding. Both bring fuel injection, electric start and a hydraulic clutch to a new liquid-cooled single.
A new injected two-stroke
The engine uses premix lubrication, with two selectable power maps and smartphone access to settings through Rideology KX2. Kawasaki's aim is a broad, controllable delivery from low revs. Fuel injection should also make it easier to maintain consistent fuelling as temperature and altitude change, though we have yet to ride either bike.

Five speeds or six
The transmission is one important difference. The motocross KX327 has a close-ratio five-speed gearbox and a 19-inch rear wheel. The X gets six speeds and an 18-inch rear, alongside equipment intended for longer stretches between the start and finish line. They share a 21-inch front wheel.
KYB suspension and adjustable fit
Both use a slim aluminium perimeter frame derived from Kawasaki's larger KX platform. Suspension comes from KYB, with a 48mm spring fork and a Uni-Trak rear arrangement. Nissin brakes use 270mm front and 240mm rear discs. Four handlebar positions and two footpeg positions give riders options to adjust the fit.

The X adds a semi-transparent 2.2-US-gallon tank, handguards, a skid plate, linkage and rear-disc guards, and a sidestand. These are practical differences for cross-country use, rather than graphics separating two otherwise identical bikes.
Prices and availability
US prices are $9,099 MSRP for the KX327 and $9,699 for the KX327X, with availability announced for late 2026. Local charges are additional. Kawasaki's German site has not yet confirmed a price or delivery date.
