Husqvarna's new FC 250 and FC 450 Factory Editions bring substantial engineering changes beneath the white and dark-blue graphics. The 250 has an all-new engine, while both bikes gain new frames, a revised rear suspension layout and WP XACT closed-cartridge spring forks. These are the first look at a new generation, rather than another accessories-only edition.
A new quarter-litre engine
The FC 250's DOHC single uses a new cylinder head with a machined combustion chamber, an oval inlet and an oval throttle body. Compression and the rev limit rise; the exact figures are still to come. Both engines receive top-end changes, top-feed injection and a new engine-management system.

Frame, intake and suspension changes
The engines sit slightly higher in the chassis to alter anti-squat behaviour. New frames have revised stiffness characteristics, while the shock connects through a new linkage and is positioned to make the intake path straighter. The suspension change to closed-cartridge spring forks is a central part of the front-end update.

What comes on the Factory Edition
The Factory equipment includes racing triple clamps and wheels from WP Pro Components, a start device, a skid plate and front-disc guard. ProTaper bars, ODI lock-on grips and a GUTS-covered seat provide the rider contact points. Dunlop Geomax MX34 tyres, a gold chain and a Rekluse outer clutch cover finish the package.

Availability
Husqvarna says the two Factory Editions will be built in limited numbers for global markets. Country availability varies, and US and German prices and dealer dates have not yet been confirmed. Final power and ready-to-ride weights are still to come.

US and European pricing is still to be confirmed.
