Honda's V3R 900 E-Compressor has returned to Milan as a planned production model. The new display bike adds a titanium fuel tank, exhaust pipes and muffler to its asymmetric naked-bike design. Honda is still developing it for production, so this is a look at the motorcycle taking shape rather than an announcement that dealers can take delivery.
Why the compressor is electric
The project centres on a compact, liquid-cooled 900cc V3 with a 75-degree cylinder angle. An electrically controlled compressor provides boost independently of engine speed. That separates the supply of compressed intake air from the direct engine-speed relationship of a mechanically driven supercharger, giving Honda another way to shape the response when the rider opens the throttle.

Honda's earlier prototype targeted performance comparable to a 1,200cc motorcycle in a 900cc package. That remains a development aim, rather than a published horsepower figure for the 2026 show bike. The attraction is as much about delivering usable torque from low revs as chasing a peak number.
The motorcycle around the engine
The uneven intake shapes either side of the tank make the engineering part of the styling. The exposed engine and single-sided rear arrangement give it a very different outline from a conventional inline-four naked. The titanium pieces on this year's bike add material detail to a project that previously drew attention mainly through its engine layout.

The cockpit also previews an enhanced Honda RoadSync system. Honda says the interface is easier to operate and adds AI-powered voice controls. Those features join the compressor in the development programme; final equipment, output, weight and charging-system demands have yet to be set out in full.

When can you buy one?
There is no confirmed US or German price or dealer date yet. For now, the significant change is the move to a planned production model, with more of the finished motorcycle visible around that unusual engine.

US and European pricing is still to be confirmed.
