Harley-Davidson's new Sprint 440 is a smaller, simpler route into the brand. Developed with Hero MotoCorp, it uses an air/oil-cooled single, a six-speed gearbox and a narrow chassis. US sales are planned for spring 2027, with final assembly at Harley's York, Pennsylvania facility.
The 440 single and six-speed gearbox
The 440cc engine claims 27hp (20kW) at 6,000rpm and 38Nm at 4,000rpm. It has a single overhead camshaft, two valves and a gear-driven balancer, with fuel injection and an assist-and-slip clutch. Fifth and sixth are overdrive ratios, intended to reduce engine speed on faster roads.
A low seat, with an important qualifier
Harley quotes 187kg ready to ride and a 671mm seat height with the motorcycle laden. That last qualification matters: it is a loaded measurement, rather than the unladen seat height commonly listed for other motorcycles. The narrow seat and optional Reach and Tallboy seats give riders several ways to adjust the fit.

Chassis and everyday equipment
A 43mm upside-down fork provides 130mm of travel, while the twin piggyback rear shocks have seven-step preload adjustment and 76mm of wheel travel. Cast wheels measure 19 inches at the front and 17 at the rear. The brakes pair a 320mm front disc with a 240mm rear, with ABS standard.

The cockpit uses a round 3.5-inch colour TFT, with LED lighting and USB-C charging. Fuel capacity is nine litres. The bodywork keeps familiar cruiser details around the small engine: a suspended headlamp, bobbed rear mudguard and fastback saddle, with Dark Billiard Gray, Vivid Black and Teal Thunder colours.
